The Journal of International Studies (JIS) is a refereed journal published yearly (December) by Universiti Utara Malaysia. Its main objective is to provide a channel for the publication of articles based on research, original thought and commentaries in politics, international relations, international business and other related fields. This journal would not only benefit academicians and practitioners but also the general readers. The views expressed contained therein are those of the individual authors and not necessarily those of the editorial board or the University. Journal of International Studies (JIS) welcomes original contributions not previously published in any journal. The journal is being indexed and abstracted in Scopus, Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI), Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), ASEAN Citation Index (ACI), Google Scholar, Index Copernicus and Malaysian Citation Index (MyCite).

This is an open access journal which means that all content is freely available without charge to the user or his/her institution. Users are allowed to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles in this journal without asking prior permission from the publisher or the author.
